Can you disappear in surveillance Britain? →
givemesomethingtoread: David Bond wanted to see if it’s possible to vanish so one day he packed his bag, got into his car and kissed his wife goodbye I usually do not reblog things on the radar, but this is really interesting. (What is more interesting still, is that this article is in the women section.)

Things I have learned today.
1. It is really, really impossible to be more vague and obscure and trendy than anyone who has ever made an AIM screenname. They’re a bunch of damn hipsters and they’ve stolen all my ideas. 2. It is Sunday’s job to always give me a headache. 3. I need to stop accepting requests for things or I will never get anything done. This obviously means college is going to be a problem...

There is something incredibly satisfying about growing up juuuust enough, just enough to choose what you eat for dinner, and still picking Apple Jacks. If I were less lazy, I would tell you a story about my dad making us waffles for dinner, because my mother was visiting her family in Scotland for a bit. But this bowl of cereal is way too good. Happy Friday.

So, I finished Catch 22 yesterday.
Which was fabulous, as to be expected.  I am about to finish Armageddon In Retrospect, by Kurt Vonnegut.  What should I read next?

I'm considering doing some What I Wore things.
But if I did any this week, it would be like… grey skinny jeans, strawberry print tank top, brown v neck grey skinny jeans, strawberry print tank top, striped button up shirt tunic thing flares, navy cami, striped button up shirt tunic thing. Having no clothes sure is an exciting adventure. Everything’s all dusty.

“‘I can’t watch it,’ he cried, turning away in anguish....”
– Joseph Heller, Catch 22. Probably my favorite passage. Except for the rest of the book.

the tumblr app doesn't have Read More... html.
Presently, there is a solitary box on my bookshelf (all the others are in the closet, full of books and books and things that appear to be books, but I question that) with masking tape on the front and right side that says “Kirsty’s important stuff”. Important is underlined. underlining is important. Anyway. All my sketchbooks and pens and pencils and bottles of pennies and things I don’t want...

Dear tumblr, Today, for the first time in my short, seventeen year old life, I was able to say I had a birth certificate. And now that I do, I can tell the Internet that I did not have any sort of legal documentation for those seventeen years. I think “ebullient” is the word of which I am thinking. now all I need to do is stop being stressed out, because that is no way to lead a real, official,...

I love my father.
(Dad has been trying to make a super ruined computer work for the past three weeks. Backstory, done.)
Dad: So how much are sim points?
Me: Oh God, I don't even know. I think it's 1000 for every 10$? But that's ridiculous because I could get a set of windows for 13 dollars, or an entire expansion pack for like... 20 dollars.
Dad: Hell, if this works, we'll go get you an expansion pack. We'll go out shopping and have a party, and buy beer and hookers and cocaine.

Instead of cleaning, I read a good chunk of Catch-22 (yes, I’m a little late to that one, but I am making up for it by absolutely loving this book. It was love at first sight.) and played the Sims. Somewhere in my mind, combining the coziness of an old Victorian house—complete with vestibule—and the clean, open concept of a modern loft is a brilliant idea. In the rational half of...

Oh dear.
It appears all of our teacups and mugs have mysteriously disppeared. How ever will my exceedingly British mother have her morning cuppa? Okay, okay. I usually don’t indulge in April foolery, but my mum’s habits make it really easy. At least I didn’t replace the sugar with table salt.
